Pottery Class Chronicles #6

We are ready to get baked!Went to my 6th class after coming back from Matsuyama Japan. Was given my first pot/pencil holder when I got to class and was told to draw a mosaic pattern on it. … I didn’t particularly want a pot that had a flower and a mosaic theme. I had seen similar themes on other people’s pots and I assumed my teacher had told them to do the same theme for those pots.

I asked if I could do something different, gave him the “idea,” got the stamp of approval to take the pot home. After that short discussion was told I’d be glazing the ceramics. Or I think the Korean term for it, translates to glazing. This was pretty much the only thing that happened in class. Dip into ceramic glaze mix, shake off excess, put down plate, and repeat. Here is what the plates looked like after being dipped. One step closer to getting baked! :o
