I got “The Call” from my instructor and was thinking about running to the studio in my PJs, but decided that I should probably have more dignity for the event of picking up the plates. Walking up the steep hill in my khaki pants that was screaming out for a belt, in the humid sunny hot weather, I reached my destination. Then had to walk up a flight of stairs (it’s only the second floor ^_^;), huffing and puffing got to the studio. The studio is close, but pretty far when the weather’s so sticky….

The results of the 15 hours (give or take) of labor was waiting for me on the worktable I started my first lesson on. I picked them up -in their toasty state ~_~ and was relieved that non had cracked-and said goodbye to my instructor. Since I’m not sure when I’ll actually be back to work in his studio again. Saying bye to someone gets so awkward, especially if both people know that they will most likely never see each other again. So after the perfect K-drama moment at the studio, came home to let my mom pick the plates she wanted. Here are close up photos of the plates. Enjoy! *click for larger images*

I found this difficult since I wasn’t sure how I was going to sketch and paint under the bended parts. So as you can see I just went with a “centered” image. I wish I had a Gamecube or a Wii here… Then I could be “studying” the game to get more dynamic images on these plates/tiles. *wink wink* I think this will be the last day I go to class, but I’m not sure. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been in Korea for almost a month. Enjoy the eye candy.

Update: I just got back from painting the above images. Unfortunately, coloring isn’t as easy as just sketching… Since the paints are so unpredictable… The pencil marks will burn off, but they got mixed in with the paint while coloring. So! not sure how it’s going to look after it gets baked! >,<;; *fingers Crossed* Trying to draw fine lines is uber difficult with a thin brush without getting shaky lines. ><;;
